House News

The second half of the Spring Term has seen every member of Cavell, Churchill, Morris and Pankhurst play their part in Inter-House events. We kicked off with pancake races at The Woodford Wells with everyone ‘berry’ keen to ‘rise to the occasion’ and show off their ‘skillet’ in flipping.

The day was beautiful sunshine and good natured, with the upper Prep helping out the Early Years children. Well done to Churchill for coming first, with Pankhurst close on their heels by one point in second place, Cavell in third and Morris in fourth.

Next was the eagerly anticipated Inter House Tag Rugby tournament. Still on a high after the success at the ISA London North Tournament, each house excitedly selected their team.

After all games played, Morris and Cavell had both won two matches while Pankhurst and Churchill had won one each.

The final between Morris and Cavell was extremely close with Cavell narrowly beating Morris by only one try!

The third and fourth places were decided by the number of tries scored with Pankhurst taking third place having scored 11 tries overall and Churchill fourth with 9 tries overall.

It was a great afternoon of tag rugby and a lovely way to end the season. Thank you to Mr. Thornley for organising the event and refereeing all the matches!

The Inter-House events continued with the Churchill charity event – a Holi celebration and charity fundraising for Barnardo’s. The event was a fantastic success, in the lead-up to the event every child created their very own tie-dye t-shirts, filling the school with a rainbow of colours as they hung out to dry.

On the day, both children and adults looked amazing in their vibrant creations, truly embracing the spirit of the event. Adding to the festive atmosphere, our playground was beautifully decorated with stunning Rangoli designs, perfectly complementing the Holi theme.

A huge thank you to all the children, staff, and parents for their generous donations in support of Barnardo’s, the Churchill chosen charity this year.

We raised a fantastic amount totalling £1378. Special appreciation goes to Lavinia and Mr. Babra for their efforts in making this event such a memorable and meaningful experience. The library looked ‘egg-ceptionally’ amazing with all the different egg designs in the final week of term for the Inter House Easter Egg Competition. The house leads wouldn’t have wanted the difficult task of deciding a winner – well done to everyone who took part!
