Today, a group of our Year 5 pupils had the exciting opportunity to attend the MFL Fayre at Bancroft’s School. The event, hosted by Bancroft’s senior school pupils, was designed to inspire a love for languages through a series of engaging, hands-on activities.
Throughout the afternoon, our pupils participated in a variety of interactive tasks that combined language learning with creativity and problem-solving. They tackled maths calculations written in Spanish, built impressive Eiffel Tower structures using spaghetti and marshmallows and decorated biscuits with the flags of different countries. They also had fun crafting chatterboxes in Spanish, helping them to practise vocabulary in a playful way.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was learning to salsa, where the children enthusiastically embraced the rhythm and movement of this lively dance style. The experience not only broadened their understanding of different cultures, but also encouraged them to appreciate the joy of language learning beyond the classroom.
Our Year 5 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the fayre, and we are grateful to Bancroft’s School for hosting such a wonderful event. The afternoon was a fantastic way to celebrate languages and cultures, leaving our pupils feeling inspired and eager to continue their language-learning journey.
