It’s been a cracking good end of term at Avon House, as our pupils have taken part in the Morris House Nutcracker Extravaganza event. Across the school everyone from Puffins (Nursery) to Year 6 have danced in a Nutcracker themed workshop led by Miss Emery from the Lisa Gilbert Academy, decorated gingerbread biscuits with Mrs Fairy, made their own Nutcrackers in class ready to be displayed at home, visited the beautifully decorated tree at the front of the school to guess the instruments and taken to the tennis courts at The Woodford Wells for the Elf Run.
The Avon House Choir also performed Christmas carols beautifully at The Woodford Wells Christmas Lunch to an appreciative audience at lunchtime.
The Fit n Elfie, Elf Run was created by the Morris House team, who also supported the younger children as they ran around the course. Made tricky with cones to dodge and snowballing the teachers along the way, the wet weather didn’t put a dampen on the smiles as they ran in year groups.
Mrs Gleadell, Head of Morris House, has been thrilled with her house charity day, and the money raised to support Haven House Hospice, “It’s been an elf-tastic day! Thank you to everyone for their support, it’s been a shell-load of fun!”
