The Annual Avon House EYFS and Pre-Prep Christingle service was hosted at All Saints’ Church this afternoon. The Ukulele Strummers, led by Miss Neel, performed ‘Feliz Navidad’, and we were given a warm welcome from Pastor Ella, who shared the story of the first Christmas. She was assisted by some Year 1 and Year 2 pupils who took on the role of key characters, and shared special BSL signs for everyone to join in with.
Year 1 opened the carols with ‘Away in a Manger’, followed by prayers from Year 2 and Year 2 singing ‘Silent Night’ together.
Reverend Marc shared the meaning of the Christingle and its different elements. The Christingles were handed out to pupils and assembled as we sang the ‘Christingle’ song.
Finishing our service today, we enjoyed an encore of ‘Let’s Celebrate’ from Foundation 2’s Baarmly Bethlehem and Foundation 1 singing their very best ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’, leaving us all feeling very festive.
A big thank you to All Saints Church for hosting us, to Bob for his technical support at the church and to Mr Reed for his backing and rehearsal time.
