The highlight of F2s week, this week, has been our trip to The Hive in High Beech. We did so many fun activities both indoors and outdoors. We started by going on a forest walk and looking for different types of minibeasts. We used plastic containers to collect them and inspect them in closer detail. After that, we hunted for 4 types of leaves that are commonly found in Epping Forest and matched them to the tree. On our walk back to the building, we used sticky paper strips to create our own forest artwork out of our favourite natural resources we found. We enjoyed eating our delicious packed lunch and then got to learn about 5 different creatures. We got the chance to hold, touch or stroke a cockroach, a stick insect, an African giant snail, a fire salamander and a corn snake! We were all very brave and handled the animals with care and respect.
