Year 4 spent the day at The Hive in Epping Forest for some outdoor learning on Tuesday. The children were learning about habitats and adaptation of vertebrates and invertebrates and spent time in groups studying insects found in two different habitats. The children enjoyed pond dipping and looking for creatures in the woodland area. They created food chains on the forest floor, using the creatures they were studying and were able to explain how the food chain was connected. All animals were not harmed and returned to their rightful homes during this exploration. After stopping for lunch and having a runaround, the afternoon was full of more outdoor learning activities. Itai – “It was the best day ever!”
