Last Friday, Avon House hosted the ISA U11 Mixed Tag Rugby Tournament at The Woodford Wells Club. Avon House faced some stiff opposition in the pool stages, winning three out of four of their matches. This meant they qualified for the cup in second place. Facing St Christopher’s (Pool 2 winners) in the semi-final was a tight contest, but Avon House pulled away as the game progressed to make it to through to the final. Facing Gatehouse, it was a hard-fought battle to decide who would take the winner’s prize. Showing resilience and perseverance, Avon House went on to win and were crowned champions of the day. Excellent efforts by all pupils that attended – competitive yet still showing abundances of sportsmanship. A special thank you again to one of our parents, Mr Prince who helped with refereeing throughout the day.
